So here we are with a new look. I tried to do something simple like change the banner. One thing led to another and I ended up having to convert my blog to the advanced template where you are pretty much working in raw css code. (not my strongest point.) Once upon a time you could create your template in the basic editor than convert it to an advanced template and then make your minor adjustments. This was especially useful in controlling column widths (the basic editor only give you a drop-down menu with limited options). I spent almost an hour looking for this function and finally had to submit a ticket. I got this response..
Now excuse me but I thought the purpose of using TypePad was ease. I MUST be familiar with coding HTML to use the templates? First of all the templates are not in HTML they are in CSS. Secondly converting to and advanced design COMPLETELY undid all of my settings. If I had been allowed to simply convert my basic template into an advanced template, I could have kept all the settings as they were and made the minor adjustments I needed to make. It would have taken me all of fifteen minutes. Instead, converting to an advanced template essentially BROKE my website and I had to waste an entire Saturday afternoon re-building it. And I'm still not done. With all this hassle, maybe I should just switch to wordpress and host my own blog.
Good thing it was raining today.
